A forbidden love, a lifelong passion, a destiny that won’t be denied... Known as Flame for her fiery red hair, not to mention her temperament, beautiful Reshelle Russell wants only one man, the one she can’t have—or so she is told. But since childhood, Flame has known that the proud Chippewa warrior, White Fire, is meant for her. Now a grown woman, she has embarked on her quest for him, in defiance of her father, an elite army commander. Imprisoned for three years by an enemy tribe, White Fire has returned only to discover that his wife is dead and his young son has been taken by a wealthy white couple. It seems nothing can penetrate his cold, embittered heart, much less heal it—until he lays eyes on Flame once more. And soon it is clear that together they can fight to regain all he has lost, amid a passion that was destined to last for a lifetime... Praise for Cassie Edwards “A sensitive storyteller who always touches readers’ hearts.” —RT Book Reviews “Cassie Edwards captivates with white hot adventure and romance.” —Karen Harper “Edwards moves readers with love and compassion.” —Bell, Book & Candle

Colorado, 1876: At a remote mining camp high in the Rocky Mountains, eleven silver miners are killed, their bodies horribly mutilated, flesh devoured. Bear attack? Not everyone thinks so. 136 years later, the cemetery where the miners were buried is being cleared for new development. Forensic pathologist Corrie Swanson has arranged to study the bones. What she discovers will expose a conspiracy that's as lethal today as it was a century ago. As the winter snows fall, Corrie's life depends on unravelling a dark secret... the key to which may just lie in a lost Sherlock Holmes story, a tale allegedly so horrifying that its author never dared publish it.

"A remarkable book. . . . Rojtman's analysis is very stimulating, especially since the use of linguistic notions does not prevent her from remaining sensitive to the spiritual concerns of the commentators she analyzes."—Thomas Pavel, author of The Feud of Language

This is a collection of deeply felt and insightful poetry and thoughts. It is organized into thirteen sections, and reveals a map of emotions. Self-awareness is explored in "In The Mirror" and "Deeper Seeing." A glimpse into the pain of an abusive childhood is explored in "Child's Woe." "The Harsh Rub" gives reactions to basically having a bad day. "Loves Lost" are about the ones that got away, including two selections about loss through death. "Toil's Trouble" is some views of the difficulty of the need to work for a living. "The Body Clock" is a poem in this section that I've dedicated to all those who work graveyard shift out of necessity. "Out of Touch" portrays feelings of alienation. Each section has poems and insights that everyone can identify with. When you take a moment to reflect on your own life, you will find a poem or thought offered in this book to help define your feelings. These offerings can be a source of comfort during trying times and a validation of your own experience.

Writing has taken over my life.. in a good way. My thoughts continually are geared towards my next song. Sometimes I get a few lines in my head when I am driving and I have to pull over the car and write them down! No matter where I am, I get the urge to write. I could be talking to a neighbor, or be in the middle of mass at church and a word or phrase will pop into my head and whoa! -a new song is born! More than anything I love, love, love, the peace of mind songwriting allows me to have. Most of my lyrics take me 15 to 30 minutes to write. There was a time when I was writing 6-8 lyrics in a day. Sometimes I would sit there and stare at my pencil asking why did you stop? I swear at times the pencil kept moving like I wasnt even thinking of what to write. This is my first edition. I hope to continue with future editions as I am still writing new songs everyday. Someday I hope to put my lyrics to my own music and I recently started taking piano lessons. Hey, we all know life is a learning process; a learning curve, we need to experience the turns with the ride! I wish you all success with this book and look forward to seeing some of you with me when it comes to award times!
